Mecklenburg County Bar & Foundation Center
2850 Zebulon Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28208
The new Mecklenburg County Bar & Foundation Center is now open - a modern, functional facility equipped with everything needed to help lawyers connect with the community and each other. The Center helps to capture and define the stature of the legal profession’s prominence in Mecklenburg County now and for years to come.
With approximately 24,000 square feet, the Bar & Foundation Center is four times the size of the former Queens Road headquarters and has 150 parking spaces and leading-edge technology throughout the building. The increased facility size offers the Bar and the Foundation more flexibility in use of the Center and offers lawyers both informal and formal places to gather, as well as large sites for seminars, training and networking events. Meeting, conference and event space will be available for Bar members to use during normal business hours. More details on room use and reservation policies will be available in early 2015.
The new Center at 2850 Zebulon Ave., Charlotte, NC 28208 is centrally located, only 2.2 miles from the intersection of Trade and Tryon in uptown Charlotte, and easily accessible from interstates 85, 77 and 277. In short, the new Bar & Foundation Center is designed and situated to fully serve Bar members and enhance their professional lives and service to others.
In support of the new Bar & Foundation Center, a naming rights campaign has been established. The naming rights campaign was designed to ensure the following goals:
Enhanced finishes and features that reflect the stature of the legal profession;
Functionality, with current technology and flexible meeting spaces;
Fiscal responsibility and a plan for sustainability of the new Center once it is completed; and
An awareness of the historic, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create the appropriate home and focal point for lawyers in Mecklenburg County for years to come by honoring lawyers and law firms with a lasting legacy for their contributions to Mecklenburg County’s vibrant legal community.
The naming rights campaign has raised almost $1.2 million to date. A special thanks to Campaign Co-Chairs Dianne C. Bailey, John W. Lassiter, DeWitt F. McCarley, the entire Campaign Cabinet and the Major Gifts Committee. Gifts to the campaign will be recognized in the new Center as well as a variety of MCB and MBF publications. We hope you will consider being a part of this significant event in the history of the Mecklenburg County Bar and Mecklenburg Bar Foundation.
