MCB Direct Case Placement Pro Bono Program
The MCB recently launched a direct case placement pro bono program and volunteer attorneys are needed. We are working in conjuction with Legal Aid of NC and Legal Services of Southern Piedmont to assist those clients they are unable to serve. Cases will be assigned on a rotating basis depending upon the area(s) of law for which you register. The time commitment could be a little as one to two cases a year. Areas for which attorneys are needed immediately are family law, landlord/tenant, foreclosure and bankruptcy. To volunteer, please fill out the Pro Bono Volunteer Enrollment Form.
Wills & Estates Programs
Wills, healthcare powers of attorney and other advance directives are drafted by volunteer attorneys recruited through the MCB Estate Planning and Probate Section. The program currently receives clients only from Habitat for Humanity homeowners. If you are interested in preparing a will or estate for a Habitat for Humanity homeowner, please contact Lauren Johns at 704/375-8624 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
