The MBA membership year runs concurrent with our fiscal year from July 1 - June 30.

The renewal period begins May 1. Memberships purchased or renewed after May 1 will be valid through June 30 of the next year.

Memberships are not pro-rated.

Attorney Membership Options (For attorneys licensed in any U.S. State or Washington D.C.)

Attorney - Level I - $175/Year

• Access to discounted member rates for CLEs and events

• Six (6) Hours of CLE (excludes On-Demand CLEs)*

Attorney – Level II - $275/Year
Same benefits as Level I plus:

• Twelve (12) Hours of CLE (excludes On-Demand CLEs)*

• One (1) Headshot Session/Year

• Admission for one (1) to MBA Holiday Party

• Access to exclusive discounts to national & local retailers, museums & more

*Excludes on-demand CLE and other CLEs such as the Annual Review and Professionalism for New Attorneys programs. Cannot be used to register for programs that exceed the balance of your available included CLE hours.

Attorney – Level III - $500/Year
Same benefits as Level I and II plus:

• Unlimited Hours of CLE PLUS On-Demand CLEs

• One (1) Section Membership Included

• Decisis Legal Research Included

• Admission for (4) to the MBA Family & Friends Event

Government & Public Sector Attorneys - $100/Year

Member rate for attorneys who are employed in the Government or Public Sector (including public/private law schools) or are members of the Judiciary (Judges, Magistrates & Judicial Law Clerks).

• Benefits of Level I MBA Membership

• One (1) Headshot Session/Year

Retired/Inactive Attorneys - $100/Year

Member rate for attorneys who are retired or designated inactive with the NC State Bar (or any other State Bar).

• Benefits of Level I MBA Membership

• Free membership to the Senior Lawyers Division for eligible attorneys who are over age 60 or attorneys who have been in practice in any jurisdiction for 30+ years.

Newly Licensed 26th JD Bar Attorneys – FREE for first year

All newly licensed members of the 26th Judicial District Bar (as assigned by the NC State Bar) will receive the benefits below in the MBA fiscal year in which they are admitted.

Affiliate Membership Options

Legal Professionals - $75/Year

Member rate for legal professionals who are not attorneys but are employed by a law firm, legal department/organization or governmental agency. Includes, but is not limited to: certified mediation professionals, paralegals, firm administrators, business development professionals and other support staff.

• Discounted member rates for CLE registration

• Ability to join the MBA Legal Professionals Section

• Invitation to Exclusive LinkedIn Group for MBA Members

Law Students - $50/Year

Member rate for individuals who are currently enrolled in law school.

• Young Lawyers Division (YLD) student affiliate membership

• MBA Level I Membership for one (1) year after being admitted to the NC Bar

• Discounted Member Rate for the MBA Professionalism for New Attorneys (PNA) program after being admitted to the NC Bar

• Invitation to Exclusive LinkedIn Group for MBA Members

Professional Affiliates - $600/Year (previously called Non-Legal Affiliates)

Member rate for professionals who are not attorneys or legal staff but provide services or consulting to the legal field and wish to network with MBA attorneys. This may include legal consultants, legal tech vendors, or other non-legal representatives supporting the profession. One person may represent an organization.

• Free registration for one (1) company representative to either the MBA Holiday Party or the MBA Family & Friends Event (any other attendees from this organization would attend at the non-member rate)

• Discounted member rates for select MBA events throughout the year

• Invitation to Exclusive LinkedIn Group for MBA Members

• Over 25% off job postings in the MBA Career Center

Note: Professional Affiliate members cannot join Sections or Divisions. Becoming a Preferred Supporter may be a better option as opposed to joining as an affiliate member.
