Community Guidelines for MBA Online Communities
Welcome to the MBA Online Community! Our platform is designed to foster meaningful discussions, share valuable insights, and connect legal professionals from all backgrounds. To ensure a positive and productive environment for all members, we have established the following community guidelines:
- Respect and Professionalism: Treat all members with respect and professionalism. Disagreements are inevitable, but they should be expressed courteously and constructively. Personal attacks, harassment, discrimination, or any form of offensive behavior will not be tolerated.
- Confidentiality and Privacy: Protect client confidentiality and respect the privacy of individuals. Refrain from disclosing sensitive information or discussing specific cases in a manner that breaches confidentiality or violates ethical standards.
- Accuracy and Integrity: Strive for accuracy and integrity in all discussions and contributions. Base your comments and advice on reliable sources and legal principles. Misleading or deceptive information is strictly prohibited.
- Legal and Ethical Compliance: Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and professional ethics rules. Avoid engaging in activities that could potentially compromise your integrity or violate legal standards.
- No Solicitation or Advertising: Events or CLE programs that are not in partnership with the MBA will not be publicized on any MBA platform. Our community is not a platform for solicitation or advertising. Refrain from promoting your services, products, or business interests in a manner that disrupts the community or imposes unwanted commercial messages on members.
- Quality Contributions: Contribute meaningfully to discussions by sharing insights, expertise, and perspectives that add value to the community. Avoid spamming, over-posting, or reposting content excessively.
- Moderation and Reporting: Help maintain a healthy community environment by reporting any violations of these guidelines to the moderators. Respect moderation decisions and refrain from engaging in behavior that circumvents moderation efforts.
- Responsible Use of Information: Be mindful of the potential consequences of sharing legal information or advice online. Clarify when information shared is not intended as legal advice and encourage seeking professional assistance when necessary.
- Civility in Debate: Engage in debates and discussions with civility and open-mindedness. Acknowledge diverse viewpoints and engage in constructive dialogue even when there are disagreements.
- Continuous Learning: Embrace opportunities for continuous learning and professional development within the community. Share resources, attend educational events, and participate in knowledge-sharing activities to enrich the collective expertise of the community.
The MBA staff administrator for this group will monitor the platform for inappropriate content and retains the right to remove content inconsistent with these guidelines. In extreme cases, the MBA staff administrator, with approval from the MBA Executive Director, may remove a user from the group for failure to adhere to these guidelines.
